Severe Storms Cause Widespread Damage in Arnold and Jefferson County

Arnold, Mo. (KFMO) - Severe storms that tore through Jefferson County on Friday night left a path of destruction, with multiple reports of building collapses, downed trees, and power lines across the region. Emergency crews are working to assess the full extent of the damage and restore power to affected areas.

In the City of Arnold, several buildings sustained major structural damage, and there are reports of roofs being torn off structures. Authorities have closed Jeffco Boulevard between Highway 141 and Plaza Drive due to debris and safety hazards. Residents are urged to avoid the area.

Beyond Arnold, other heavily impacted locations include:

Klondike/Clayton Husky Road area near Hillsboro, where 8-9 structures have been reported with varying levels of structural damage.

Old Lemay Ferry Road in Imperial, where several homes suffered structural collapses and severe roof damage.

Emergency responders are continuing search and rescue efforts, as well as debris removal. Further updates will be provided as assessments continue throughout the morning.
