Milwaukee, Wi. (KFMO) - The St. Louis Cardinals lost the opening game of its three-game series with Milwaukee on Monday, 9-3.
The NL Central-leading Brewers put this one away early, taking a 3-0 lead in the bottom of the 1st off of a 3-run home run by shortstop Willy Adames. That trend continued in the 5th and the 6th, as the Cardinals got back to within 2 at 5-3, only to see their work undone with a 4-run bottom of the 6th. The final three innings saw the Cardinals shut out, they eventually dropped this one 9-3.
