St. Louis, Mo. (KFMO) – The St. Louis Blues escaped Tuesday night with their 10th win in a row as they beat the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 in Overtime.
The game was scoreless heading into the third period after both goalies, Jordan Binnington and Cam Talbot played phenomenal.
JT Compher scored the first goal of the game after he found a loose puck near a wide open net just over five minutes into the third period.
Talbot and the Red Wing defense held the Blues scoreless until Jordan Kyrou redirected a pass from Cam Fowler to the net with 29 seconds left in regulation. A back-and-forth overtime ended with a Fowler goal, assisted by Robert Thomas on a 2-on-1 play.
Binnington made 20 saves in the win, while Talbot stopped 35 shots.
St. Louis (41-28-7) hosts Pittsburgh tonight. The Penguins are the last team to beat the Blues. Coverage starts at 6:30pm on B104.3.
