Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) – The Sikeston Bulldogs transition game was too much for the Farmington Knights on Monday in a Class 5, District 1 Championship Game. The Bulldogs were victorious 95-69.
Sikeston gained momentum when PJ Farmer went 3-for-3 from the free throw line after being fouled on a 3-point try. Those free throws were Farmer’s first points of the game and broke a tie game. Farmer led the Bulldogs with 34 points in the game. He’d finish the first half with 19 that included a late 3-pointer just before intermission. The Bulldogs entered the locker room up by 15, 49-34.
Farmington was playing catch-up the rest of the night but the Sikeston defense stopped any attempt. Trace Sadler unofficially tallied eight blocks on Farmington shots and was a difference maker on the boards with 10 rebounds and 21 points.
The Knights were led by Cannon Roth with 17 points in his final game, Logan Schaupert added 14, and Greyson Street made four 3-pointers for 12 points.
Farmington finish the season at 26-3, collecting the most wins in program history. Sikeston improves to 26-3 and host Webster Groves in the Class 5 Quarterfinal on Friday night.
