Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - North County pitcher Kyle Straughn pitched 7 innings of 2-run ball on Thursday, helping the Raiders defeat the West County Bulldogs 7-2 in Bonne Terre.
North County (3-3) got the scoring started in the bottom of the 1st, plating 3 runs on 6 hits, all of which were singles. The Raiders then increased that lead to 4-0 after the bottom of the 3rd.
West County (4-1-1) got back to within 2 runs in the the top of the 5th after Alex Hogan hit a 2-RBI double to right field. However, North County answered back with another run in the bottom half of that inning, before adding their final 2 runs in the 6th following two Bulldog errors. West County went down in the top of the 7th, giving North County its 3rd win of the 2025 season.
Straughn took the win for North County, pitching all 7 innings, striking out just 1 batter but keeping the ball on the ground. Julian Thebeau took the loss for West County, pitching 3 innings and giving up 4 earned runs.
