Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - The North County Raiders defended their home field for the second time this season, defeating the De Soto Dragons 42-14.
With former NFL and North County star Will Compton in attendance, the Raiders (2-1) put on a show. They'd get on the board first following a 8-yard touchdown pass from Braydee McClure to Blayne Kennon. The Dragons (1-2) would respond with a touchdown of their own, a 12-yard rushing touchdown for Brenton Drummond, but North County would pull away from there. McClure picked up another touchdown pass and a touchdown run en route to a 21-6 halftime lead.
Aaron Cook opened the scoring in the second half, punching it in from 1-yard out, but De Soto came back with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Austin Missey to Drummond, bringing it back to 28-14. However, while the Dragons found themselves finished offensively, the Raiders had two more touchdowns to add. Cook found his second score on an 18 yard scamper, while Landon Whitfield added the exclamation point with a 62 yard run. The Raiders would run out the clock on their next drive to take the 42-14 win.
Aaron Cook was the Little Caesar's Pizza Pizza Player of the Game. He carried the ball 20 times for an unofficial 112 yards and two touchdowns. The Raiders next travel for the first of three road games, they're headed to Hillsboro. The Dragons are also on the road once again, they face Festus.
