Fredericktown, Mo. (KFMO) – Micah Reutzel will move into the Fredericktown boys basketball head coaching position for the 2025-26 season. Reutzel has spent the last four seasons as the head coach of the Fredericktown Lady Blackcats where he compiled a 56-49 record.
Reutzel’s Lady Cats won two MAAA regular season titles and appeared in the Central Christmas Tournament Championship Game twice. This season the Fredericktown girls played for a Conference Tournament Title and District Title.
Reutzel says leaving the girls program was a tough decision to make.
Reutzel replaces Joaby Sikes, who is in his first year as Fredericktown Athletic Director. Sikes spent eight years as head coach of the Fredericktown Blackcats and the team finished 2024-25 with a 15-11 record. Reutzel says the boys program is in a good place because of Sikes.
Reutzel coached his daughter, PJ, each of her four seasons at Fredericktown, and now he will coach his son, Tucker on the boys team. Reutzel says he’s dreamt of the opportunity to coach the program he played for.
