Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - The Central Rebels jumped on the Jefferson Blue Jays early, opening up a 30-6 lead en route to a 42-24 win on Friday.
The Rebels offense leaned on the big play all night, their second play from scrimmage going for 63-yards, Karras Foster bursting through the line of scrimmage to make it 6-0. Foster then added a 15 yard TD run, then a 60-yard TD catch delivered by Jaxon Jones to his stellar day, making it 18-0 Central in the second quarter.
Unfortunately for Foster, injury problems would limit his playing time in the second half. However, numerous other players for Central stepped up as they continued to roll, leading by as many as 28 in the second half. Jefferson would steadily improve through the third into the fourth quarter, but the Rebel lead was far too much to overcome, this one coming to a 42-24 close.
Jaxon Jones went 10-20 for 223 yards, throwing for 2 touchdowns and 2 intercepts. Despite limited playing time, Foster led the Rebels in both rushing and receiving yards, recording 104 yards and 2 touchdowns on 8 carries and 145 yards and 2 touchdowns on 4 receptions. Barrett Henson picked up 81 yards on 5 carries, as well as a tocuhdown. Jones also added 71 yards on 12 carries and a touchdown.
The Central Rebels are now 2-0 and look toward Fredericktown. The Blackcats knocked off Herculaneum 13-0 on Friday. Jefferson plays Herculaneum next week.
