Water Main Break Causes Disruption, Boil Advisory Issued

Ironton, Mo. (KFMO) - As of 7 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, a portion of American Water Company customers in Ironton are experiencing no water service or low water pressure due to a water main break.

Utility officials say the issue is currently being addressed, but a precautionary boil water advisory has been issued for affected customers. Residents in the impacted area should bring any water used for drinking or cooking to a rolling boil for at least three minutes.

The advisory is expected to remain in effect for 48 hours, or until testing confirms the water is safe to consume.

Officials will provide updates as repairs continue and water service is restored.
