Leadwood, Mo. (KFMO) - The West County R-IV School District has released a statement to families and community members following the arrest of a staff member on school grounds Tuesday.
According to Superintendent Levi Rawson, the arrest took place during after-school hours and was related to a matter outside of the staff member's school responsibilities. Rawson emphasized that the situation does not involve students and poses no known threat to the safety of the school community. Due to privacy laws and the ongoing investigation, specific details about the arrest were not released. However, the district confirmed that the staff member will not be present on campus while the matter is being addressed. District officials are fully cooperating with law enforcement.
Rawson also encouraged families and students with concerns or questions to reach out to their school principal or counselor for support.
