Patrol Reports Zero Fatalities During New Year's

Jefferson City, Mo. (KFMO) - Highway Patrol officials are reporting no fatalities occurred on Missouri's roadways as the result of any traffic accidents during the New Year's Holiday counting period.

Preliminary statistics show 21 people were injured in 44 traffic crashes during the counting period, which began at 6 p.m. Tuesday, December 31st, and ended at 11:59 p.m. Wednesday, January 1st. There were no boating crashes and no drownings over the counting period. Patrol Troopers also investigated 50 DWI cases.

The fatality statistics could change if late deaths occur, or if other departments report fatal traffic crashes. Follow the Missouri State Highway Patrol on X @MSHPTrooperGHQ.
