Missouri Legislative Session Begins Today

(Jefferson City, MO.) The 2020 Missouri Legislative session begins today in Jefferson City. State Representative, Chris Dinkins, says one issue from her district she'll be working on is how to solve the problem of feral hogs. Dinkins also says the Federal Government's decision to join with the Missouri Department of Conservation's recommendation to stop the hunting of the hogs in the Mark Twain National Forest has caused serious concern among residents.

State Representative Dale Wright explains he will be working on a measure that would allow Missourians to work while claiming Medicaid benefits in an effort to help them get back on their feet and be able to make a living.

According to State Representative Mike Henderson he'll be pushing last session's drone bill again this year.

Henderson also says he's working on a land conveyance bill for the Farmington Industrial Park and two bills related to insurance. One would change the law to say a person receiving certain disability payments could receive their benefit electronically instead of the current method of getting the funds by check only. The other bill deals with payments to physicians to be sure insurance companies are paying benefits in a timely fashion. :Legislators also predict the issues of gun safety and gambling restrictions will also be discussed.
