Man Steals Ambulance

(St. Louis County, MO) A 48 year old man is in custody after allegedly stealing a Crystal City ambulance around 9:30 Monday morning. Reports indicate the man, who is still awaiting the filing of formal charges, drove the ambulance to St. Louis and was spotted by police. When they attempted to pull him over he fled in the vehicle striking a police car. After a chase the ambulance crashed into a car in the 4500 block of South Broadway. Spike strips were eventually laid by Troopers with the Highway Patrol and the ambulance was stopped. The man was arrested at South Broadway and East Schirmer Street.
