(Osage Beach, MO) AM 1240 KFMO, the longest running radio station in St. Francois County, is officially the Missouri Broadcasters's Association 2023 Station of the Year for the small market category after the Association's annual convention held this past weekend at the Lake of the Ozarks. The award is given to a station based on key factors including featuring top look, sound and talent. The Station of the Year is also seen as committed to the betterment of the community, using its resources and talent for the benefit of the area with an emphasis on localism. Industry leadership is the final contributing factor to being named Station of the Year, carrying the torch for the broadcast industry and shaping the broadcasters of the future. B104.3 earned a first place plaque in the category of Promotion, for the 2022 Jingle Bell Rock promotion. KFMO Sports received a Certificate of Merit in the category of Play by Play for the January 14th broadcast of the Mineral Area Cardinals and Moberly Greyhounds men's basketball game. AM 1240 KFMO, and B104.3 radio, have received 35+ first place awards from the Missouri Broadcasters Association since 1998. Each year, the Missouri Broadcasters Association recognizes outstanding achievements in both radio and television in the state. The organization, represents 355 radio and television stations in Missouri. This is the first year the Missouri Broadcasters Association has awarded the station of the year based on market size. The MBA is celebrating their 75th anniversary this year.
