Former Farmington Firefighter Paramedic to be Remembered

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - A former Farmington Firefighter, and Paramedic, Tina Mecey, will receive professional honors today and tomorrow in Farmington.

Mecey succumbed to cancer January 14 presumptively related to
her duties serving the residents of the Melville Fire Protection District. Mecey was a dedicated firefighter and paramedic since 1992 when she worked as a resident firefighter for the Boone County Fire District while attending college.

Mecey served as a wildland firefighter for the United States Forestry Service and, after eight years with the Farmington Fire Department, joined the Mehlville Fire Protection District in 2007. She was promoted to the position of engineer in 2020.

Mecey served the community for 17 years, exemplifying the courage and dedication which defines the fire service.

Firefighter Paramedic Tina Mecey will receive honors at a speial funeral service beginning with visitation today from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Cozean Memorial Chapel at 217 West Columbia, in Farmington with a fire service uniformed member walk through at 7:30 p.m. Visitation continues Tuesday from 8 a.m. to 10 a.m. at the Parkland Chapel, 1260 Karsch Boulevard, in Farmington. Full honor funeral services are at 10 a.m. with a private burial.
