Fatal House Explosion in Cuba Claims One Life, Leaves Another Injured

Cuba, Mo. (KFMO) - In the early hours of Thursday morning, a devastating house explosion on Erin Drive, in Cuba, claimed the life of one resident and left another seriously injured. The explosion, which occurred around 1:30 a.m., destroyed the home.

Fire crews from Cuba, Bourbon, Steelville, St. James, and Sullivan quickly arrived on the scene to combat the aftermath of the blast. Tragically, a female resident lost her life in the incident. A male resident, who sustained severe injuries, was transported by ambulance to a nearby hospital for urgent medical care.

"Our hearts go out to the individuals and families affected by this tragedy," said Crawford County Sheriff Darin Layman. 

He confirmed that a multi-agency investigation is underway to determine the cause of the explosion. The Crawford County Sheriff's Office, Cuba Fire Department, Missouri State Fire Marshal's Office, and the Missouri Propane Safety Commission are collaborating on the case. While the investigation is ongoing, authorities have stated there is no indication of foul play.

The identities of the victims are being withheld to respect the privacy of their families. Further updates will be provided as the investigation progresses.
