St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Fredericktown woman sustained moderate injuries in a single-vehicle crash on Christmas evening in St. Francois County.
According to a report from the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at approximately 6:40 p.m. on Old Highway 8 at Mitchell Road. The driver, a 36-year-old female, was traveling northbound on Mitchell Road in a 2005 Toyota Camry when she failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Old Highway 8 and Mitchell Road. The vehicle crossed the highway and struck a rock embankment. The driver, who was not wearing a safety device, suffered moderate injuries and was transported to Parkland Health Center South by ambulance.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage and was towed from the scene.
