Kansas City, Mo. (KFMO) - Dan Israel, the longtime executive producer of the Chiefs Radio Network, has passed away at the age of 60 after a decade-long battle with cancer.
Israel worked every Kansas City Chiefs game since 1990, becoming a beloved figure in the team’s broadcast operations. Diagnosed with colon cancer 10 years ago, he revealed in February that the disease had recently spread to his lungs.
His family shared the news of his passing on Thursday.
Despite his health struggles, Israel remained dedicated to his work, and that his job gave him the strength to push through the exhaustion of his illness. He was uncertain whether he would be able to travel to New Orleans for Super Bowl LVIII due to medical appointments, but they were rescheduled, allowing him to experience one last Chiefs championship game.
Israel’s contributions to Chiefs broadcasting spanned more than three decades, leaving a lasting impact on the team and its fans.
