Virgil Kenneth Rohrer, known to most as Ken, passed away on April 16, 2025, at the age of 78. He was born on July 15, 1946, in Berkeley, California.
Ken is survived by his children, Matthew (wife, Kristin) Rohrer and Ann Rohrer, his grandchildren, Jacob Rohrer, David Rohrer, Margaux Woods, and Simon Woods, and siblings, Beth Irvine and Jahn Rohrer.
Throughout his early life, Ken was committed to service and learning. He served in the Army National Guard and went on to earn both his bachelor’s and law degrees from the University of Missouri-Columbia-a place he remained deeply proud of throughout his life.
Ken practiced law in Farmington, Missouri, for over 40 years and served as the St. Francois County Public Administrator for 30 of those years. Through both his legal work and public service, he quietly helped many people in his community with compassion, intelligence, and integrity.
Ken was an avid traveler who loved exploring new places. In his younger years, he enjoyed fly fishing and a good game of golf. He was a lifelong learner, a critical thinker, and a deeply intelligent man. He will be remembered by his children as a father who showed up when they needed him most.
