Mona Lynn Penberthy of Bucyrus, Missouri passed into her eternal home on June 4, 2024 at her home at the age of 65. She was born in Farmington on April 25, 1959, to Glenda (Triplett) Holliday and the late Herbert Wampler. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Herbert Tyler Wampler and her beloved dogs, Buck, Chachi and Eily.
Mona grew up in Doe Run, Missouri and graduated from Central High School in 1977. She worked in Colorado and Wyoming at Sombrero Ranch as a horse wrangler. She then returned to the Farmington area in 1996. She enjoyed Gardening, birds, side by side riding, hunting and spoiling her dogs. In October 2023 she was diagnosed with ALS and she fought it like a trooper.
Survivors in addition to her mother, Glenda include her step-father, Gerald Holliday; her husband of 24 years, Bruce Penberthy; a daughter Melissa (Michael) Turner of Bucyrus; grandchildren, ReShea Civey of Bucyrus and Sky (A.J.) Edgecomb of Presque Isle, Maine; siblings, Debby Clouse, Dean (Renee) Wampler and Brian (Addie) Wampler; nieces and nephews, Michael, Misty, Brian, Ashley, Chris, Keisha and Megyn; numerous great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly; a special nephew, Chris; sister-in-law, Cathy (Dale) Mason and her special canine companion, Sam. Many good friends that she held dear also survive.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Cozean Memorial Chapel beginning at 11 a.m. until the funeral service at 2 p.m. in the Cozean Chapel with Pastor Mike Wampler officiating.
