Melvin Anthony Schneier, a cherished husband, brother, and friend, passed away on April 14, 2025, in Cape Girardeau, Missouri, at the age of 75. He was born on August 26, 1949, in Perryville, Missouri.
Melvin dedicated 21 years of his life to a fulfilling career at Chrysler Corporation, from which he retired, leaving behind a legacy of hard work and commitment. As a Navy veteran, he served his country with honor. He was a member of the River Hills Eagles Aerie 4034 of Perryville.
In his personal life, Melvin was known for his many hobbies and interests. He found joy in fishing, hunting, and camping, activities that allowed him to connect with nature and the great outdoors. A devoted sports enthusiast, he enjoyed watching baseball and football. Melvin also enjoyed dancing, often captivating those around him with his skill and enthusiasm on the dance floor.
Melvin is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Agnes (Pfaff) Schneier. He is also survived by his brother, Tony Schneier, and Tony's wife, Renee, of Perryville, as well as his sister, Donna Bovey of Perryville. In addition, Melvin leaves behind many nieces and nephews who he loved dearly, and friends. He is also mourned by his cherished canine companion, Stormie, who provided him with joy and companionship throughout his life.
Melvin was preceded in death by his parents, May (Turlin) and Anton Schneier, his sisters Carol Clampitt and Margie Schneier, an infant brother, his nephews, Mark Clampitt, Jeffrey Clampitt, and Eric Baltrush, his nieces Sylvia Hahn and Brenda Hahn, and his brother-in-law, Dennis Bovey.
Melvin's presence will be deeply missed, but he will always be remembered with fondness and respect.
