(St. Francois County, MO) Officials with the United Way of St. Francois County announce they have chosen Cassie Thomas as the new Executive Director of the group. Thomas will carry on the work of current Executive Director, Clay Whitener, including the popular Dine Out for the United Way and Bell Ringing Campaigns and will bring a fresh perspective on fundraising and community engagement to the position. Thomas previously worked for US Representative Jo Ann Emerson and the LIFE Center for Independent Living where she worked daily to connect people with resources. She is serving now as the Director of Events for the Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce and will take the position of Executive Director for the St. Francois County United Way January 3rd as Whitener retires. A special open house will be set for January to welcome Thomas and wish Whitener well on his retirement.
