(Bonne Terre, MO) A woman could be facing charges in connection to a stabbing Monday morning in Bonne Terre. According to Police Chief, Doug Calvert, his department was called to a residence in the 400 block of D Street about 10:30 for an injured man who had allegedly been stabbed by his wife with a pair of scissors. Calvert tells KFMO B104 News when officers arrived the victim, a man in his 40's, had went to his neighbor's home to have his wounds tended until authorities arrived. Officers gained permission to secure the victim's residence and while searching, found the scissors with evidence on them. They also found the man's wife attempting to hide from officers in a space next to the garage of the home. She was apprehended without incident. Calvert adds the man isn't willing to press charges however there is an order of protection in effect to keep the woman away from the man's home. The man was later interviewed at the hospital and is recovering. A report will be sent to St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney, Melissa Gilliam, for her to discern whether or not possible charges of first degree assault and violation of a protection order will be filed. The woman's name won't be released until charges come about.
