(Ironton, MO) Citizens in Ironton and the Arcadia Valley area can expect to see growth of the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park area after officials with the Missouri Department of Economic Development awarded Ironton the Local Tourism Asset Development Grant of $509,622. The Director of Federal Initiatives for the Department of Economic Development, Shad Burner, says his group was looking for developments important to the community.
Chase Lindley is a Communications Team Member with the Department of Economic Development, and he is from Pilot Knob. He says the Bike Park has helped the community grow.
The Director of Operations at the Shepherd Mountain Bike Park, Sydney Willis, says the community has come a long way to grow the Bike Park.
Grant funds from the state come from the American Rescue Plan Act. According to Willis, the funds will be used on Phase 2B with plans to enhance the park for beginners and families.
