(Farmington, MO) A meeting to discuss the proposal to extend Rice Road in Desloge could be held soon between all those who hold an interest in the area. The Presiding Commissioner of St. Francois County, Harold Gallaher, says a few residents of the Rice Road area voiced their opposition to the project at Tuesday's St. Francois County Commission meeting. Gallaher adds they've decided to hold a special meeting to try and reach a mutual agreement.
One of those who spoke to commissioners about the negative impact extending Rice Road could have was Steve Pasternak. He says completing the project would cause problems for walkers, runners, children playing in the area, and could damage the existing portions of Rice Road.
The date and location for the meeting has not been set yet. The proposal calls for Rice Road to be extended to provide an entrance to a field that would be used to expand a subdivision.
