Doe Run, Mo. (KFMO) - The Doe Run Fire Protection District responded to a residential structure fire on Buck Mountain Road on Saturday, January 11.
Dispatch confirmed that all occupants had safely exited the home before fire crews arrived. Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and visible flames engulfing the residence. The first units on the scene immediately deployed two attack lines and began firefighting efforts while establishing a water supply.
Due to the intensity of the fire and challenging weather conditions, additional resources were required. A second alarm was struck and more fire personnel were called in, with two additional tankers as well. Crews successfully extinguished the fire and conducted extensive overhaul operations to ensure no further risk of reignition. While there were no reported injuries to the residents or firefighters, the home was deemed a total loss.
The Doe Run Fire Protection District was assisted by the Farmington Fire Department, Leadington Fire Department, Wolf Creek Fire Protection District, Pilot Knob Fire Protection District, Big River Fire Protection District, Leadwood Fire Protection District, DeSoto Rural Fire Protection District and Potosi Fire Protection District.
