Park Hills Teen Charged After Theft

Farmington, MO.) A teenager from Park Hills, 18 year old Marcus Wharton, is being charged with felony robbery in the first degree, felony armed criminal action, misdemeanor possession of marijuana, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia after an alleged robbery at the Farmington Wal Mart. According to Police reports officers were called to the store Monday after Wharton is alleged to have taken merchandise valued at over $400. It's reported employees observed Wharton putting merchandise into several bags and when he was confronted about leaving without paying he is said to have pulled a knife and ran from the scene. Police found scattered clothing of Wharton's nearby as well as other items including drugs and drug paraphernalia. Wharton is already on five years probation for burglary charges from February and for stealing a firearm. He's currently in the St. Francois County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
