(St. Francois County, MO) No injuries are being reported after an approximately 82 acre brush fire in the area of Highway N and King's School Road Wednesday evening. Members of the Bismarck Fire Protection District were called to the scene just after 8 PM. Firefighters expected an area of about 50 acres but upon arrival they discovered the blaze was larger than thought. Due to many prescribed burns in the area Wednesday this brush fire was confused with one of them and was left unattended and able to thrive. Firefighters called for mutual aid and received additional equipment and manpower to fight the blaze and bring it under control. The Bismarck Fire Protection District received assistance from the Pilot Knob, Doe Run, Farmington, Leadington, Wolf Creek, and Park Hills Fire Departments.
