Bonne Terre, Mo. (KFMO) - A Bonne Terre man has been arrested following a UTV crash that left one woman dead and another injured late Saturday night.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred at approximately 11:41 p.m. on March 22 on Raider Road at Vo-Tech Road. A 2024 Polaris General X4 1000 was traveling southbound when it veered off the right side of the road, struck a utility pole, and overturned.
A 37-year-old female passenger from Bonne Terre was fatally injured and was pronounced dead at Parkland Health Center in Bonne Terre. A second passenger, a 43-year-old woman, also from Bonne Terre, sustained moderate injuries and was transported to Parkland Health Center in Farmington by ambulance.
The driver, identified as 47-year-old Jason S. Jakoubek of Bonne Terre, was arrested shortly after the crash at 12:03 a.m. on March 23. He has been charged with driving while intoxicated resulting in the death of another and DWI causing serious physical injury. Jakoubek is currently being held at the St. Francois County Jail on a 24-hour hold.
