One Dead, Trooper Injured After Severe Weather in Missouri

Delta, Mo. (KFMO) - One person has died following severe weather that struck parts of Missouri on Wednesday, April 2.

According to Cape Girardeau County Coroner Craig Williams, Whitewater Fire Protection District Chief Garry Moore died Wednesday night between Advance and Delta. Details on how Moore died have not been confirmed.

In addition to the confirmed death, a Missouri State Highway Patrol trooper was injured at his home in Advance during the storms. The trooper was transported to the hospital but has since been treated and is now recovering.

Taylon Landewee, of Delta, says winds stripped her roof away.

Authorities continue to assess damage from the severe weather. More details are expected as officials complete their evaluations.
