More Charges and Bond Hearing in Barton Death

(Bixby, MO) A second person from Bixby, 48 year old Jeffery Preston Asher, is facing charges of first degreee murder in connection to the shooting death of 51 year old  Donald Ray Barton Jr,. of Boss, and is awaiting his first appearance in Iron County Court. The first person charged in the death, 25 year old Lorenzo McGee, has a bond hearing appearance scheduled for this Friday. A day before Asher's arrest McGee was taken into custody in connection to the case. He was charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action. Reports indicate Barton was shot in the stomach around 8 o'clock Monday night and was discovered  by motorists lying in Neals Creek Road, not far from the Bixby General Store. He was flown to Missouri Baptist Hospital in Sullivan, but died from his wounds shortly after arriving. Police also say there could still be more arrests in regards to Barton's death as the investigation continues.
