Mineral Point Residents Arrested Over Cat

(Mineral Poinrt, MO.) Two Mineral Point residents, 34 year old Nicole Elaine Shaw, and 62 year old Bernard Martin Maness, are facing charges of first degree burglary and felony stealing. Reports indicate the charges come after police say the pair stole their neighbor's cat. When questioned Maness and Shaw told police they had went to their neighbor's house to retrieve DVD's and then Shaw changed her story saying they went to retrieve a cat not being cared for correctly. Shaw later said they entered the home to find drugs. Both Maness and Shaw were taken to the Washington County Jail. They were being held on a $25,000 bond. Maness bonded out Tuesday.
