(Perryville, MO.) Officials with Perry County District #32 say more details are expected concerning the case of meningitis diagnosed in the elementary school after they were notified of the problem Friday. The Assistant Superintendent for the District, Jeanie White, says they're following the same protocol for this case as they would for the flu. All surfaces in all school buildings were disinfected over the weekend and school officials say they should have information on whether this is a case of bacterial or viral meningitis. An email was sent to parents with information on the signs and symptoms of meningitis. If parents have further questions they are asked to contact the Perry County School District or your health care provider.
