(Jefferson City, MO) The agreement that would keep federal medical monies coming to Missouri, the Federal Reimbursement Agreement, or FRA, is now approved by Missouri House members after Senate approval of the measure in Jefferson City this week. The State Representative for the 117th District, Mike Henderson, says it's a three year extension of the agreement so now medical organizations, including rural hospitals, won't have to worry about a severe loss of funding.
Henderson adds House members also passed House Bill 2 which would deny any of the state's tax dollars to be used for abortion. Henderson explains the Hyde Amendment, that was put in place in 1976, keeps those dollars from being used for abortions yet the Biden administration had indicated they may disregard the amendment. It's unsure if Senate members will take up House Bill 2 during their Special Session.
