Leadwood Firefighters Quickly Contain Residential Blaze on BB Highway

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - At approximately 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday, January 21, 2025, the Leadwood Fire Protection District was dispatched to a residential structure fire near BB Highway.

Upon arrival, firefighters encountered heavy smoke and confirmed an active fire. The Bismarck Fire Department was the first on the scene and initiated a fire attack, with additional units arriving shortly thereafter. Crews worked efficiently to bring the blaze under control, and no injuries were reported. Once the fire was contained, salvage and overhaul operations began promptly, with crews working for several hours to extinguish lingering hot spots.

The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office has taken over the scene for further investigation.
