Jury Convicts Duncan on Multiple Counts of Sexual Assault

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - On Tuesday, August 6, 2024, a St. Francois County jury found 72-year-old David K. Duncan, Sr., of Park Hills, guilty of three counts of Statutory Rape in the First Degree and six counts of Child Molestation in the Second Degree – Aggravated. The verdict came after a two-day trial and just an hour of jury deliberations.

The charges stemmed from a 2021 disclosure by a minor family member, who revealed a series of sexual assaults committed by Duncan over a period from November 2018 to June 2021.

Following the guilty verdicts on all nine charges, the trial proceeded to a second stage. During this phase, attorneys for both the State and the defense presented arguments before the jury issued its sentencing recommendation. The jury recommended the maximum sentences: Life Imprisonment for each of the three counts of Statutory Rape and Fifteen years Imprisonment for each of the six counts of Child Molestation.

Formal sentencing by the court is scheduled for October 25, 2024.
