Jefferson Elementary's Compass Classroom Supports Emotional Regulation

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - During the Black Knight Insight tour of Jefferson Elementary, the group learned about the Compass Classroom, a program designed to support students in regulating their emotions. Farmington R-7 Schools Assistant Superintendent Shana Turner explains how this newer program gives students a safe space to understand their emotions and behavior.

Staff teach self-regulation skills using the principles of conscious discipline.

Turner, adds that this program has already made a positive impact.
