High Speed Chase Ends in Leadington Investigation Ongoing

St. Francois County, Mo. (KFMO) - Authorities arrested four suspects following a high-speed chase through St. Francois County Tuesday evening. The pursuit began in Iron Mountain Lake and ended in Leadington, involving multiple law enforcement agencies and a foot chase near Mineral Area College.

The suspects, all from Illinois, were identified and charged as follows:

  • Anthony C. Needham, 31, of Chicago, IL – charged with felony assault on law enforcement and felony resisting arrest.
  • Devonte C. Moret, 26, of Evanston, IL – charged with felony assault on law enforcement and resisting arrest.
  • Justin S. Pearce, 26, of Evanston, IL – charged with felony assault on law enforcement and felony resisting arrest.
  • Ryan E. Peart, 30, of Evanston, IL – charged with felony aggravated fleeing and felony assault on law enforcement.

All suspects were booked into the St. Francois County Jail on a 24-hour hold.

The chase prompted a temporary shelter-in-place alert at Mineral Area College as officers searched for one of the suspects in the vicinity.
