St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A high-speed chase through St. Francois County ended in a fiery crash early Monday morning.
At 3:23 a.m., a deputy attempted to stop a vehicle at US Highway 67 and Doubet Road, but the driver refused to yield, accelerating to speeds of 120 mph. The pursuit continued past Farmington, Park Hills/Leadington, and Desloge exits before the driver lost control near Stormy Lane. The vehicle crashed into cable barriers, sustaining extensive damage. Moments later, it burst into flames.
The female driver fled the wreckage but was quickly apprehended by deputies. She initially refused to identify herself, prompting law enforcement to use a portable fingerprint scanner. Authorities confirmed she was from St. Louis and had multiple felony warrants under various aliases.
Police departments from Desloge, Park Hills, Bonne Terre, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Big River Fire Protection District, and the St. Francois County Ambulance District responded to assist. The St. Francois County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for additional felony charges.
