(St. Francois County, MO) A wind advisory remains in effect from the National Weather Service starting 1 pm this afternoon and running to 1 am Saturday. In the Parkland winds this afternoon are expected to move at 20 to 30 mph, and gust up to as much as 45 to 50 mph. Meteorologists with the National Weather Service say thunderstorms are expected across most of the area this afternoon and this evening. Some of them could be severe with damaging winds, golf ball sized hail, and possible tornadoes. Remember, gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result. Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Experts say you should use extra caution and secure outdoor objects.
