Fatal Crash on Missouri 47 at Route H in Washington County

Washington County, Mo. (KFMO) - A fatal collision occurred at the intersection of Missouri 47 and Route H in Washington County on Sunday at approximately 12:30 p.m.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 2013 Ford Escape traveling westbound on Route H entered the intersection and collided with a 2007 Chevrolet 2500 traveling southbound on Missouri 47. The impact forced the Chevrolet off the roadway, striking a parked 2004 Dodge 2500 and a nearby house.

The driver of the Ford Escape, a 62-year-old man from Hillsboro was pronounced dead at the scene at 1:25 p.m. by the Washington County Coroner. His passenger, a 62-year-old female from Hillsboro, sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to SSM Health St. Louis University Hospital. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 56-year-old man from Lubbering, suffered serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital South by ambulance.

Both vehicles were totaled in the accident.
