Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce Luncheon Highlights Business-Police Relationships and Ear Health

Farmington, Mo. (KFMO) - The Farmington Regional Chamber of Commerce hosted its monthly luncheon on Thursday, October 17, 2024, offering a blend of vital business information and community health advice. This month’s luncheon sponsor, Hearing Care Partners, was represented by Dr. Karen Melton, who provided insightful advice on keeping ears healthy and maintaining good hearing over time.

Following Dr. Melton’s presentation, Officer Ryan Miller from the Business Resource Division of the Farmington Police Department addressed the audience on the importance of building and maintaining strong relationships between local businesses and law enforcement. Miller underscored how critical it is for businesses to be proactive when it comes to safety and security.

Miller also pointed out that small incidents, which are often overlooked, can lead to more significant problems down the line. He encouraged attendees not to dismiss seemingly minor issues, as they can often snowball into larger, more dangerous situations.

Miller shared practical advice on when and how to get in touch with the authorities. For emergencies, he reminded everyone to dial 911. However, for non-emergencies, the Farmington Police Department can be reached at 573-431-3131.

The luncheon concluded with a brief Q&A session where businesses were encouraged to connect with Officer Miller’s division for resources and ongoing support in improving safety measures.
