Farmington Man in Custody for Burglary Charges

Cape Girardeau, Mo. (KFMO) - A Farmington, Mo. man is facing burglary charges connected to two recent commercial burglaries in Cape Girardeau.

According to the Cape Girardeau Police Department, on Thursday, August 1, at 10:20 p.m., officers with the department conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near Maria Louise and Kiwanis Dr, driven by 44-year-old Nathan J. Wright.

Police say that on July 19, 2024, at about 11:30 p.m. Wright allegedly forced his way into a business in the 300 block of S. Spanish and stole approximately $290 from the business. On July 29, 2024, at about 4:47 a.m. Wright allegedly forced his way into the same business again, and stole approximately $80 from the business. Wright was taken into custody and formally charged through the Cape Girardeau County Prosecutors Office with class D felony of receiving stolen property, two class D felonies of burglary in the second degree and two class A misdemeanors of stealing.

Wright is currently being held on a $20,000 cash-only bond.
