(Farmington, MO.) Farmington City Council members are discussing the 1/4 cent transportation and 1/4 cent parks, recreation, and stormwater sales taxes that are set to expire in 2022. The taxes came up at Monday night's council meeting. City Administrator, Greg Beavers, says they would like to pass the renewal of the taxes in April of 2020. He adds even though they aren't up for renewal until 2022 this would give city officials time to plan ahead.
Beavers adds council officials also looked over a proposal from Mayor Larry Forsythe that would track legislation of the council. The measure would simply add the name of the bills sponsor to any bills that come before the council.
