End of 2024 Legislative Session

(Jefferson City, MO) The 2024 Missouri Legislative session, which ended Friday afternoon in Jefferson City, is being talked about as one the least productive in Missouri legislative history.

The much debated initiative petition measure would have made it more difficult to pass constitutional amendments on the ballot, did not pass and didn't make it to Governor Mike Parson's desk.

State representative for the 144th District, Chris Dinkins, says she feels current rules for initiative petition don't give voters equal representation.

Dinkins adds Governor Parson has less than a dozen measures to consider from the Senate and over two dozen from the House.

Missouri lawmakers also sent Governor Parson a 51.7 billion dollar budget which includes K - 12 state education funding, a 3.2% raise for state employees, and a 3% increase in state funding for higher education.
