Doe Run Man Injured in Crash

St. Francois Co., Mo. (KFMO) - A Doe Run man is recovering from serious injuries after a Saturday evening crash in St. Francois County.

Highway Patrol reports show 32-year-old Michael J. Cooperwood was driving a car west on Route DD, near Kimball Lane, just before 7 p.m., when Cooperwood lost control of the vehicle in a curve to the right. His vehicle crossed over the center of the road, began to skid, and went off the left side of the road. The car came back onto the road, crossed over the center line again, and ran off the right side of the road. The car spun in a circle, rolled over, and crashed into a barb wire fence and two trees.

Cooperwood, who was wearing a seat belt during the wreck, was flown to Mercy Hospital South at St. Louis.
