Diver Recovered from Bonne Terre Mine

(Bonne Terre, MO) A diver at the Bonne Terre Mine was killed Saturday afternoon.

According to Bonne Terre Police Chief Doug Calvert, the call came in at 1:27 p.m. for a rescue in the mine. Once on scene, authorities learned that the rescue was for a diver that was in the water.

Calvert says that at that point it had become a recovery operation. The victim was brought to the surface, however he could not be revived.

The coroner was called in to the scene. A cause of death has not been determined, however Chief Calvert says there is no foul play expected at this time.
