Desloge Chamber Meeting Features Forum

(Desloge, MO) Members of the Desloge Chamber of Commerce are still reflecting on the candidate forum held during Tuesday's chamber meeting. The forum featured the two candidates for the Associate Commissioner District 2 position in St. Francois County. Republican David Kater is facing incumbent Democrat Patrick Mullins in the race. When asked what some of the biggest issues facing the county are Mullins says the absence of a graduating class of law enforcement recruits from Mineral Area College is one example of how a lack of interest in law enforcement careers is hurting the area.

When asked about his priorities if elected, Kater says, he'd work on improving the jail and putting together a package of incentives that would attract the best candidates.
