Davis Leaves Hospital for Jail Cell

(Jefferson County, MO) The man facing criminal charges over allegedly stabbing a Jefferson County Sheriff's Deputy with a screwdriver, 47 year old Nicholas Davis of Dittmer, is now out of the hospital and in a cell at the Jefferson County Jail. Davis was taken into custody, and to the hospital, after he was bitten buy a K9 officer following a 5 hour standoff July 7th. It began with a traffic stop at a driveway in the 9500 block of Jones Creek Road as Davis came out of a residence brandishing the screwdriver while the deputy spoke with the driver of the vehicle he had just pulled over. After the deputy was stabbed, Davis, and Amanda Davis, who had grabbed the deputy at one point, barricaded themselves in the home. A SWAT Team, other officers, and the K9 Unit arrived. Davis eventually charged out of the home, was shot with bean bags by the SWAT Team, and was bitten by the K9 Unit. He was taken to the hospital while Amanda Davis was also taken to jail. The driver of the car, a 38 year old man from Luebbering, MO, was wanted on outstanding warrants from Franklin County including violation of a protection order, non-support, and Probation Violation. Additionally, he was cited by the Deputy for Failure to Register a Motor Vehicle and Failure to Maintain Financial Responsibility.
