Dangerous Wind Chills Expected as Bitter Cold Lingers

Park Hills, Mo. (KFMO) - A blast of arctic air will grip the region through Thursday, bringing dangerously cold wind chills and subzero temperatures.

The National Weather Service has issued a Cold Weather Advisory for tonight as wind chill values plummet to -15 to -20 degrees due to strong northerly to northwesterly winds. Actual temperatures will drop to around -2 degrees Wednesday night and -1 degree Thursday night, marking some of the coldest conditions of the season.

Officials urge residents to take precautions, including dressing in layers, limiting outdoor exposure, and checking on vulnerable individuals. Frostbite can develop within minutes in these conditions.
